For those who have followed DPC site here we closed the Fan Fourm because of spamming that was totally untastful to a cause that is so speacial to so many of us. We have opened it back up for those who may wish to read some of the notes Laura Barnes left behind here has her son Justin would begin to paint Diamond P.
This week god truly took home a Angel Laura passed away after a long fight with Colon Cancer yesterday. When i first met Justin a year ago this month it was threw a email then a phone call we shared what i wanted the bike to be in its paint, knowing his own mother was fighting i knew he would pour his heart into this tribute bike he did that plus some. A year later and many events we have attended its not to take away from the builders of this chopper but when this bike is viewed its the awesome art work that people marvel over Justin would spend over 600 hours painting this bike all the while helping to take care of Laura and his Dad Ralph who last year suffer a pretty bad motorcycle accident during the paint process. I was lucky to meet Justin finally in person in May this year in Bay City Mi along with his soon to be bride Alea. Justin, Alea and myself shared some great times together here we laughed we cryed but most important i knew now in person this young man was the true friend he had been from the begining. To anyone that reads this please take a min and remember Laura Barnes after all we can all be thankful she raised Justin to be such a great person. My prayers go out to his entire family and its my wish when the time is right that we will haul the Chopper back out to his shop and have Lauras name put on this bike before the raffle. He painted it for my vision for the Cancer community but also doing all the while his own mother was loosing her fight. Not often you meet someone in a buss deal that you can honeslty say a year later that person is like family but truly Justin is part of our family here in Midland and Bay City and will always be the man who gave Diamond P its Awesome Tribute to not only the Cancer community but his own mother. thank you for all the kind words fred, this is goin to be short and sweet as its still kind of hard to really put into words what my mother meant to me and the emptiness i have inside with out her here. i miss her more than words can ever begin to desribe but that is just me being selfish and wanting her back...i know she is in a better place now and not suffering anymore. she was so proud that i got to do the paint on dpc and i would give her updates on it daily as i did fred, she watched it grow from the start and got to see it finished before i delivered it and i can remember how her eyes lit up when she saw it in the sun....i miss you mom and will always and forever love you, you are my hero
